I am a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall Campus. I have a broad interest in animal behaviour, perception and cognition. My research primarily focuses on the production and perception of visual and acoustic signals, including visual illusions in the sexual displays of great bowerbirds and the acquisition and function of vocal mimicry in songbirds. Further details of my work are given on the research page.
I am extremely grateful to the Royal Society, European Commission, NERC, Deakin University and the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour for funding my research.
