I am a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall Campus. I have a broad interest in animal behaviour, perception and cognition. My research primarily focuses on the production and perception of visual and acoustic signals. At the moment I am particularly interested in perceptual tricks that can manipulate perception during mate choice and predator-prey interactions. I am also interested in the acquisition and function of vocal mimicry in songbirds. Further details of my work are given on the research page.
I am extremely grateful to the Royal Society, European Commission, NERC, Deakin University and the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour for funding my research.
